MAKING OF CONTEMPORARY INSTRUMENTS AND BOWS
Guy Harrison studied for three years at the Newark School of Violin Making
in England and graduated with the highest level of distinction. Employed in
Europe and further trained in the restoration of fine instruments, he also
made instruments under the name of his employers.
After crafting instruments in Europe, he moved to Canada to open his own
studio. In recent years, he has taken part each summer in the world-renowned
Oberlin College violin making workshops.
His work has won numerous medals and awards. In Germany at the Mittenwald
International Violin Making Competitions in the 1997, 2010 and 2014 and in the
United States at VSA International Violin Making Competitions in 2016 and 2018.
Guy Harrison instruments are performed in the National Arts Centre Orchestra
of Canada, Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal & Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
He is member of the American Federation of Violin & Bow Makers.
