Exhibitions-Concert
Every year, we propose original events, where the public can discover and try the most recent works of our members. During these exhibitions, the greatest musical talents join the height of craftsmanship for unique chamber music concerts.
Last year we were pleased to exhibit in Quebec City for the first time and to partner with the Concours Musical International de Montréal. During the competition we held a live workshop where 13 violin makers and 4 bow makers worked together at Bourgie Hall to make a violin and a bow which were both presented as a prize to the laureate.
Stay tuned to know more about this year events!
Corda Program
Chamber Music Concerts in Schools
As part of our educational mission, the goal of the Corda program is to bring chamber music to children of all social and cultural backgrounds, in exposing them to a "live" concert by a small ensemble like a string quartet. Our presentations are graciously offered to public elementary schools. In order to support future professional musicians, we mainly select and hire quartets of the new generation.
"The students enjoyed the concert. For many, it was their first concert experience. In addition, many mentioned that it was the first time they had seen stringed instruments. Thank you very much for this great initiative" - a teacher.
Current season
We are presently working on planning our current seasonal interventions.
If you would like to have your school involved or to obtain more information, please write to info@themakersforum.org. The execution of the Corda program is made possible thanks to our partner Canimex.
